The Galactic Butterfly is this symbol which is said to represent all of the consciousness that has ever existed in this galaxy. This is our physical ancestors both human, animal, reptile, fish, shell fish, plants, as well as the consciousness which organized all of the raw material from a whirling disk into stars and then planets and solar systems. This pattern was devised by Toltec or Zapotec weavers as patterns for blankets. Butterflies are seen as ancestors returning for a visit to physicality. This beaded and leather bag was completely handmade. The blue, black and white beads were hand woven on a loom with traditional size 11 glass this portion of the bag measures 2 1/4" x 4". The beaded panel was then sown onto brown leather and then again onto black. The majority of the bag is black. It contains a beautiful jade closing clasp. The strap is sturdy braided red, gray and white thread and hangs well across the shoulder. Bag measures 7" x 4 1/4"
