Pachamama Native Art
and the Cooperative
Everything you see on our website was made with love, skill, and enthusiasm by Pedro Robledo, Beadist and Designer. We only use the highest quality materials for creating. Each loom piece was made on specially designed wooden looms and all pieces were made with loving intentions for you!
Pachamama Native Art started from our dream of making our living using our hands, Pedro’s love for beading, jewelry making, and creating, and Danielle’s love for adventure. In 2008, we set out for Pedro’s native Mexico, from Boston, where we had previously lived for eight happy years. We came to Oaxaca, a city filled with inspirational art, culture, food, music and people. From the pre-Hispanic ruins to contemporary artists, and everything in between, it is impossible not to be amazed and inspired. It is our hope that Pachamama Native Art flourishes so that we fulfill our dreams of having a little eco-friendly house and organic garden, and to continue bringing peace to the world through bead work, art, sustainability and growing our Pachamama Cooperative! (See Our Vision below for more on the coop.)
Pedro's art and bead work is inspired by the many years he spent living and traveling throughout his ancestral land of North America. His indigenous roots are from northern Mexico and is therefore Native American. He identifies and finds a lot of inspiration from the bead work in Native American Indian artwork, as well as from the Huichol bead work of northern Mexico.
Danielle works on making sure you find what you’re looking for on our pages and corresponds with you directly when you contact us or when you place an order. If you have an idea about a beaded project, she works with you and Pedro to develop your ideas into what you envision. Danielle packages everything up with gratitude for your purchase, loving thoughts and positive intentions for you!

OUR VISION: The Pachamama Cooperative
We have recently been expanding Pachamama Native Art into a small community focused beading cooperative so that others will learn beading techniques and share what techniques or gifts they have. We are currently four members of our cooperative: Pedro, Danielle, Amparo and Alejandra. On large orders, Amparo and Alejandra may help out with beading, under the guided supervision of Pedro. He makes sure everything is top quality to ensure your complete satisfaction.
In addition to beading for bulk orders, the coop currently participates in local art and craft fairs and offers workshops on loom beading and beading on objects throughout Oaxaca. We have been invited to nearby villages and communities to share beading techniques with a social vision of community building. It's our goal to travel throughout Mexico (and beyond) to continue offering beading workshops for community building. Contact us if you're interested in participating in or hosting a beading workshop for your community. We may also be able to program personalized distance workshop tutorials so that you can learn our beading techniques from your computer anywhere you are in the world.
If you're in Oaxaca, we would love it if you stop by. Meet us, check out our studio, and see beading in action. You may also be interested in becoming a cooperative member if you're in Oaxaca for extended time and if you are dedicated to beading. We'd be honored to have and meet you!
Please check out our blog to read more about our bead work and life in Oaxaca.
