The Days of the Dead (Los Dias de Los Muertos) and skulls (calaveras) are an important part of traditional Mexican folklore and contemporary culture. You can see skulls and skeletons everywhere around Mexico, especially in Oaxaca. For me, they represent the many faces and aspects of Mexican culture. Skulls, along with the beadwork styles of the Huichol Indians, were the inspirations behind this beaded skull bracelet on tanned deer hide.
It feels so soft against your wrist; it's extremely comfortable to wear, yet strong and bold.
I made the beaded part on a loom and then sew it onto the deer hide leather.
This bracelet measures 7" when closed and is 1" wide. The beaded part measures 4.5" long. It closes with a jade stone.
Please tell me your wrist size or an estimate so that I can custom make it to fit you.
